Meet the Hostelworld Student Explorers!

Students and backpacking go together like peas and carrots – like Forrest and Jenny! As you probably know, we want everyone to experience the magic of travelling, so who better to introduce students to the wonderful world of hostels than students themselves?!

This year, we travelled to a selection of UK university campuses to launch our first ever Hostelworld Student Explorer programme. Intrigued?

Who are Hostelworld Student Explorers?

First things first, who and what are Hostelworld Student Explorers? Well, Hostelworld Student Explorers (or HSEs for short) are an awesome crew of UK students who live and breathe the Hostelworld brand and are here to help other students discover #HostelLife. We recruited an amazing squad of ten students from five UK universities to become our first ever HSEs and to represent Hostelworld online and on their campuses. Our HSEs will be our go-to experts on all things student, and they’re ready to spread the word about the magic of travelling and staying in hostels.

So how will our adventure-loving students be inspiring their campuses to #MeetTheWorld? They’ll be creating student friendly (i.e. cheap!) content for our blog on everything from their favourite travel destinations to local tips on their UK cities. They’ll also be watering your wanderlust with regular vlogs on our Youtube channel, so if you’re a sucker for budget hacks and insider info you’re in for a treat. If you’ve never stayed in a hostel before, these guys are here to show you what you’re missing and even introduce you to some of their faves. Don’t forget to follow them all on Insta too – their feeds are the place to be for exclusive tips and offers you won’t want to miss out on!

HSE’s first mission in Venice:

We took our Hostelworld Student Explorers on a 48-hour training event in Venice to introduce them to the Hostelworld vibe and get a taste of hostel life. We stayed at the awesome Anda Venice Hostel and fully immersed our HSEs into the action.

Check out our video for a snapshot of our time in Venice and don’t forget to check out Anda Venice Hostel!

If you’re a student at one of these five universities then keep an eye out on campus to see our Hostelworld Student Explorers in action! Don’t worry if your university isn’t included this year, we’ve got big plans to roll out the programme each year with more and more universities represented, so watch our blog and social channels for announcements.
