Yo, you don't even hafta leave the US to eat some wierd foods. I'm a chef and I'm always cooking up some crazy stuff. Who woulda thought of eating crawdads? Those are nasty little animals. And escargots are just little garden snails

As long as you're not looking at them, both are yummy! Except when there are still bits of shell in the escargot.. that's naaaarsty.

Remember folks, don't salt your snails 'til after you've cooked 'em. And don't just pick 'em out of the garden. Make them graze over a sheet of cornmeal first to get out all the nasties.

As for crawfish, I dunno how you clean them, apart from sucking the gunk out yourself. Ewww.

Vegemite? I'm sure the Aussies here can fill you in on the details of this brewery by-product... or lament that the national treasure is now made by Kraft

An outsider's point of view: reminds me of this Japanese seaweed paste stuff that you have with rice. Stomach-churning in looks, but oddly satisfying. I kept eating it because I knew something that funky HAD to have good nutritional properties, or no one would eat it!

Are you kidding me? Crawdads ROCK!!! They're like tasty mud shrimp!
Btw, The Boiling Pot in Austin has some of the best crawdads I've ever had!

I can eat a ton ofCrawfish...bring me some put some newspaper down in front of me, give me a bib, and I'll devour about 10 lbs, plus some red potatos and corn on the cob! Its one of the few things I really miss from Louisiana.

Hey Omisan that was nori well thats just japanese for seaweed but the paste is just seaweed and soy sauce if it was a black paste your speaking of. Its awesome I eat it almost everyday if you like Japanese food I recommend something called FURIKAKE its these sprinkles in a jar it has seaweed and sesame seeds along with some other things depending on the variety you get but its all good stuff!!!

There was this potato pasta dish I had in Bratislava, Slovakia. It was white and kind of cheesy. i remember there was bacon in it too. I was SOOO drunk when I ate it and it hit the spot perfectly. I think it started with an H. Man, those eastern Europeans know how to chow.

Kyle J - Furikake rocks! I have at least a dozen different kinds on hand at all times.. I also like the little instant packets for making ochazuke - basically the same stuff dumped over rice and then adding tea or hot water. My favorite late night snack. But some people just don't understand

i'm not a huge nori fan, but there's this rice sprinkly thing in jars like furikake comes in - but it's purple and there are little salts all over it and it's kind of tangy/sour... man that stuff's good: what's funny though, the english translation of this foodstuff is 'beefsteak plant' weird... cause it's surely not meaty.
