of course we all know that the dutch occupied indonesia for some years and that as a result, there is a strong indonesian presence in holland. there are tons of indonesian restaurants in the city - in my ten day stay... only one of them was worth mention CAUSE IT WAS FANTASTIC! really, please give it a go if you are at all interested. i've been to indonesia myself, and this place has the most authentic recipes by far. the food is cheap and just plain delicious. i highly recommend their chicken satay with sticky rice and spiced green beans along side. all of it was good though, we ate there maybe four times. it's also easily reached by tram (of course i can't remember which, but my bf will - i'll ask him tonight) - and was always packed with locals. i was just going through my wallet and found their card, i remembered why i saved it = to share the love! you'll love it, i promise!
*side note: this was the first indo. restaurant we found in amsterdam (i went with the purpose of having some, it had been years), and actually we just stumbled upon it looking for our hostel (other side of city, ahah!) - got some food, it was good - but so cheap, i thought... ah, there's better. i treated my bf and i to dinner the next night, a real nice upmarket place. they offered us some "welcome drink" which we accepted, then the food came SICK AS FUCK! it tasted nothing like indonesian food, and it was costly! when we got out bill, they even ripped us for 14 euro per welcome drink NO SHIT! we were pissed. point being: there are tons of immitations out there cause people don't know better sari citra is no immitation.</span>
