i work in a shopping centre and the back entrance to our shop is in the food court. i try to bring my lunch most days but its just so damn easy to buy it! plus, the maccas staff get sad if i dont drop by and have a chat a few times a week! (maybe thats a sign that you eat too much fast food, that you befriend the entire crew at mcdonalds?)

Well, in an attempt to lower my rediculous fast food spending i not only cooked for myself last night (stir fry with rice, it actually turned out better than i thought it would), but i also brought my own lunch to work with me today. So, i've probably saved myself $15 in the last 15 hrs, $1 an hr, not bad....take that Subway and McDonalds

Now, i've just gotta quit smoking and i'll be saving some decent money. I smoke around 3 packs a week @ $11 a pack. If i can kick that habit along with my fast food i'll be saving around $472 a month......holy crap!!!

I just realised that i waste A LOT of money

beergal! I know I'm just shoving right in to the conversation with this, but the best rice to do stirfry with is Sainsbury's easy cook long grain rice (I'm guessing you're in England?!). It comes in a red packet, don't get the blue packet American long grain, as it goes so sticky once it's cooked. The red packet one comes out perfect every time, and you don't even need to let it cool down, just drain it and chuck it in with all your stirfry. Yum.

Can you tell I'm a student? I have too much time to come up with the perfect stirfry.

i just cooked up my meat and veggies for about 10 mins then chucked in the sauce and let it simmer for about another 10 mins. Now, about this sticky rice thing, i've never understood it, what happens to the rice when it goes sticky and why does this make it bad to eat??. I just boiled the rice for around 10 - 15 mins, drained it, rinsed it in hot water and it seemed fine to me....but i may just be used to sticky rice A mate of mine always swore by the 11 min rice, not a second longer, not a second shorter....or maybe it was 14 min rice, maybe that's where i've been going wrong

i'm not sure if pizza is considered fast food. i eat alot of that.

when i think of fast food i think of traditional McDonalds, Wendy's, BK mostly. and i have to say that i dont eat much of it unless im traveling. i like to experience the local flavor and cuisine but it can get expensive sometimes so i usually try to get something original and good from each place that im at a few times or at least once depending on where i am and how long im there. but after that i typically try to save money on food and therefore i'm eating fast food or buying bread and something for sandwiches at the grocery store.

i also typically really enjoy the fast food of the countries i am in. so i'm not a fast food junky but when i travel i end up eating more of it than what a normal human should eat.

I like KFC and Burger king. Does Subway count as fast food? Because I like them to. I cannot stand McDonalds though.

I really never eat fast food anymore. It's really just so gross - and anything that is supposedly veggie, is just so unappetizing. I'd much rather spend a few extra minutes running into a grocery store or Whole Foods/Wild Oats to get something from their deli if I'm in a pinch than choke down so much pre-proccessed stuff. I love cookin'!

Of course, this all changes if I'm on the road. I can get quite creative with limited menus when I'm starvin' and there are only fast food joints speckling the landscape.

Never thought I'd become such a food snob, but it's so much healthier. Once I left college and moved to an area with less fast food places, I quickly dropped 15 lbs without even trying. Coincidence?

Just for the record I eat out alot because of my lifestyle but I don't go near a fast food place! well only white castle when I have the ultra munchies of doom but then I go to the gym drunk. I love 24 hour places.
