If you are traveling and have not had a half decent meal for a while or are tired of making the trip to the supermarket every day for food...try out your local buffet, you get to sit and eat like a normal person, as well as score enough food to last you 2 or 3 days.

Bring in your small carry pack, and have a plastic bag in it...everytime you go up to the buffet, take a little to add to the bag...

Some suggested take-outs:

Bread
Fruits
Veggies
Jams and Butters
Salt and pepper
Cooked meat or Chicken (if you eat it within 24 hours less time if it really hot out)
Crackers
Cakes and or cookies for a treat

All these things will tide you over for a day or 2 for sure.

So to break it down, you pay 10E or 10$ or 10P for a meal, and you end out getting 3 or 4 meals out of it...YEHA, thats about 2.50 for a full meal!!

Just so you know, the buffet place will frown upon you doing this, so I would say be discrete.

( This tip is for the budget trav'la, not you average joe in his home town resturant!)

that's a really smart idea!

i cheated (on the budget travella' tip) and ended up staying mostly in bed and breakfasts during my last trip. every morning i was able to steal a fresh supply of jam and nutella plus i'd take about 4 rolls to use later for lunch. i think it only amounted to a savings of about $3.00 per day, but hey - i could get a macchiato latte with that!!

Hehhe! I do that even when I don't travel...At shcool we often get free lunch when going to a conference, I go only for the lunch...I love free food!!! Hhaah! It just tastes better... :eat: I like to pick up some jam and butter, and sometimes cream. I'm not saying I'm a clept.
