I used to not like Thai food. Everybody in the US hopped on this Thai food bandwagon, and I kept hearing "oooh how bout Thai?!?" every time we went out to eat. It took me until I went to SE Asia to develop a palate for it. It helps that I've acquired a taste for spicy food in the past few years...it opens you up.

My food I hate is sausage. Even vegan sausage. It's just a nasty concept in my mind. When I studied in Germany, everybody was raving about sausage and I was grossed out. Everybody gained "Kartoffelngewicht" (potato weight) while we were there, but I think staying away from the fatty sausage helped me alose a ton. And I'm really not a huge huge fan of salad, but I know I need to eat it so I do. I hate "greens" like the bitter herby weed leaf salads.

I like German sausage, like brats and stuff, but if someone were to give me like a sausage biscuit or something for breakfast, I would gag. sick. they serve turkey sausage for breakfast over here from time to time which is pretty good. but like, a sausage patty in America... woof.

Mmm, the talk of eggs made me make a tuna sandwich for lunch.

I can't stand mayo, mustard, or ranch dressing.

I don't like guacamole. It just seems bland to me.

Also, I am picky about the humus I eat. It has to be fresh and usually made by a reputable middle eastern restaurant/person.

Man I opened up to eat just about any common foods. One thing I don't like is hummus.

Butter or margarine are both hideous. Also, most people I know love mushrooms. Just the smell puts me off, it makes me want to be sick.

Black Olives.
Just the smell induces a gagging reflex....

Yeah I'm not a fan of the black olives either. I love most German sausage except Weisswurst.

Hah, that's funny, I make the exception if it's melted on toast. But only with two things: scrambled eggs, or baked beans. Nothing else. Ever. And not on baked potatoes either.

YES, mooncakes are so damn greasy (we are talking about the same thing right? The lotus seed cakes with egg in the middle, eaten for the mid-Autumn/moon festival?)

A lot of mine have already been said...

seafood (of any kind)
olives
mayo
mustard
sour cream (I'll cook with it, just don't like it sitting on top of something like potatoes)
fried eggs - I'm fine if they're scrambled though

I'm just a little picky

You guys don't know what you're missing! And you haven't even touched on the really "nasty" stuff... Foie gras, livers, pig trotters, blood puddings/sausages, etc. Me, I dig all the nasty bits that supposedly taste like crap.

For me, however there are two things I don't eat typically- Scallops and beets. Don't like 'em, think its a texture thing. Have had some good scallop ceviche, but its cut into smaller pieces, etc.
