As a matter of fact, I'm turning twenty-one. And I was planning on celebrating it here in Austin at the famed sixth street, getting drunk off of my ass with free drinks.
However, my trip plans have moved to mid-may through whenever, so I will be having my birthday in Europe! I'm looking for suggestions, where's the best place to be? Coutry, club, city, whatever.. I want to get drunk off of my ass, either way.

Anyone have any suggestions?

(For reference, my birthday is on the 19th of June.)

Happy birthday!

I celebrated my... well, a birthday in Europe a couple of years ago. It was a nasty, rainy Sunday in Paris... we drank wine in cafes in the Latin Quarter to keep warm and then later, on an overnight train to Munich, completely decimated a bottle of Malibu rum (gimme a break, it was all we could find on a Sunday in Paris--everything is freakin' closed!).

I'm sure you'll find a worthwhile excursion, whatever it may be, to properly ring in your One-Year-Closer-To-Death Day!!

I had a birthday in Europe a couple of years ago, and Australia last year. NYE in Europe, Canada, etc. etc.

Celebrating "the big day" (whatever it may be) overseas is awesome. Just do it the way you would no matter where you were, and make it all about the people. Learn to say "it's my birthday" in the local tongue and have numerous foreigners buy you drinks. Make friends with a local and see if they'll take you to do what they do for birthdays there. Whatever you do, it'll probably be memorable.

We celebrated my brother's birthday in a small town at my brother in laws house in Germany last year. Got loaded playing Cranium with my hubby's sister in law, hubby, and my brother as we polished off many bottles of wine and 5 litre kegs. When the rest of the family got back from Paris, they were jealous cuz we were just having too much fun.

You can make just about anything wild and fun. If you're looking for a totally wild city with lots of people ready to get crazy with ya, ya might want to consider Barcelona, Ibiza or Prague.

Sounds like I just have to be as sporadic as I am on the rest of the trip and I should be fine.

My friend celebrated his 23rd birthday in europe last year and his brother bought him a cake, and put it on the window sill to hide it from him for about an hour. soon after, they heard noises and looked outside to discover that two homeless guys were trying to climb up the wall to get the cake... so my friend cut them a slice each then took the cake inside

Hahaha, aliz that's awesome.

And beergal, I have no idea. I was looking for suggestions. Possibly Germany, a coworker of mine is staying here in the states until may/june, and she wants me to come get drunk with her in Germany, so that's an option. I really have no idea where I'm going to be.

What sort of stuff do you like doing this might help us out with a few suggestions!

Berlin is a super city, and certainly one of the best nightlife spot in Europe ! I loved this city and wish to go back longer sometime. Otherwise, I heard Hamburg nightlife was good or that Munich is a beautiful city... I spent 6 weeks in Bremen (northern Germany), but would NOT suggest to have your birthday there !

Won't the world cup be on in Germany this summer? It might be a bit overcrowded for a Birthday. They do have really good nightclubs though.

You should try to picture what kind of birthday atmosphere you want.

For sun and party atmosphere go to Spain, Portugal or Ibiza.
For cheep go to eastern Europe.
For hardcore drinking yourself stupid atmosphere come to Ireland.
