Unhappy

So I've been told that Europeans dance very differently (in clubs, etc) from Americans, i.e. not humping each other.
Unfortunetly this is the only way I know how to dance with a guy...??
How does one dance otherwise? What do you do?
I'm imaging the type of dancing in 6th grade where you're afraid to touch each other...i love dancing and will definitely be going to a club or two, but I don't want to stick out as my friend told me i would, for 'grinding.'

I especially think the Spanish dance so sexy. Rhythm is in their blood.

I'm sure the guys won't mind a bit of grinding, how hot are you?

grinding was the name of the game in South America...

Just watch in the clubs and you'll catch on quick.

I actually asked about that when I was in Europe, I asked some Spanish people and they were like: "yea, people do it, it's just not the only way of dancing." that was paraphrased, but it's basically what they said.

I've run into the bump & grind in the UK (mostly student-oriented clubs) and Spain (tourist clubs), but otherwise it's been different everywhere. French dancers (outside of gay/mixed clubs) were very arythmic and way off, whereas like Oz said, the Spanish are naturally rhythmic. The Dutch seem to do this crazy dance where you keep lifting a glass to your mouth for hours on end...

I think the best policy is to just watch how everyone else does it. Not to bite their style, but to figure out what's ok or not, or what you might have to do to catch the attention of the opposite sex (if indeed that's what you're looking for!) If you don't see other people doing the celebrated Crotch Grind of Love, it's probably best not to do that. If you see that no one can dance at all (see: Paris) just stay with the rhythm and throw in some nuances and people will flock to you and your astute sense of style. If you're going to Spain, spend the first night or two taking some free salsa or samba lessons - otherwise you'll feel woefully inadequate on the dancefloor.

But above all, just be yourself, have fun, and soak in all the atmosphere and music. You're there to have a good time, right?

I don't think people are really INTO the actual dancing as much in the EU. So, definitely less dry-humping and more kind of minimalistic moving. Some of them get really impressed if you even pull off some real basic rave or hip-hop moves.

I say dance your own american way, you cant just pick up a new style of dancing overnight (even if ther is one ?), and some guys may be turned on by your style, just be yourself
