Okay here is the deal, I am looking for wild cities and party spots that may not be commonly known. Not looking for places like Daytona or New Orleans, but places for example like Windsor Ont, Or Toledo Ohio. A wild place that not everybody knows about. Any Ideas? :wine:

Hey gspina! Here's an idea: Athens, GA, one hour NE of Atlanta, home of U of GA. I'm starting law school here in the fall and after visiting today, I am not sure I will get any work done. I think it is known as one of the "top party schools" in the U.S., however they determine that I don't know. But it is a HUGE music scene; bands like REM and the B-52's started here, and there are tons of musicians in the city that play at the tons of cool bars in the city! On top of that, there are so many unique restaurants, pubs, shops, etc....not to mention close to 45,000 students who know how to party. And for the most part, good weather!

If you can make it to the Pacific Northwest, then try Whistler, BC. or Couer d'Alene, ID. Try to visit around the holidays, tons of beautiful people, active nightlife, and some of the best snow N. America has to offer, if youre into boarding or skiing. Also, Tempe, AZ (home of ASU) is always a safe bet, theres more than enough to do there year-round.

wow, I didn't know that coeur d'alene has a good party scene. I lived there for a while. It sucked. Beautiful scenery though!

I'm not sure if you'll be going to Germany soon ::waits for the laughs:: but in Frieburg there are some nice clubs. If you take the train a few mile north to Emmington(s/p?) there's an awesome little bar that sells one euro drinks - we're talking huge drinks - with high quality stuff. plus the cover was only 4 euros or something. The club was bumping all night and they did play a lot of american songs...which was neat. As for US places:
- Dewey Beach, DE. Even though it's a tiny little beach community the clubs are always going. My friend was at one last week, I forget the name, and he said he had so much fun...and this guy is a regular at some Philly clubs.

It's not something you usually hear of when mentioning American party towns, but Charleston, SC, should be right up there. As far as history goes, not many places have Charleston beat, and the compact peninsula nature of the town, combined with the large number of bars and historic maritime atmosphere make for my favorite city in the southeast! Wet Willie's is always fun, but the party moves night to night from the mainstream (Wild Wing, etc) to the off the beaten path. House parties aren't uncommon, either, since the College of Charleston is right in the middle of things and the students (who really know how to party) rent or own the large majority of the houses in certain areas of the party. If you've never done a kegstand on a tilty Charleston porch that's 100 years old...I recommend it

I'm from southern Ohio and go to school in northern Ohio and recently I've hit up the clubs up on Lake Erie. My favorite was in Sandusky, Ohio (better known as the place where Cedar Point is)... actually it was just outside of Sandusky, off of route 2... The place is called "Nicks" and it is one hell of a good time. It's 5 bucks to get in if you're 21... if you're under (or don't have a fake) it make cost more, I don't know...but they put a wrist band and a big black X and keep your id til u leave if you're uunder. Beware if you use a fake... they scan IDs so if you're using someone's id, that's cool... if you had one made, it prolly won't work. ANyway, back to the club... you get in and there's a room w/pool tables and a bar... then there's like 4 other bars all surrounding this dance floor and the DJ is really good and it is a great time. The bartenders are really kick ass too. And because it's on the lake, if you meet up with people, there's always a party somewhere else at someone's cabin on the lake afterwards. I've been there 4 or 5 times and havebeen invited to keggers in someone's cabin lots of times... Anyway, there are lots of bars and clubs in the Sandusky area, and also in the Cleveland area -- Geneva on the Lake especially.

Finally, I must give a shoutout to the best bar in the world which is in Ada, OH, where I go to school. It's called the Regal Beagle, and it's fantastic.

I know lots of great bars/clubs all over Ohio, but these are rather off the beaten path. Hope this helps anyone. :)

Flagstaff, AZ. Stay at the Grand Canyon Hostel, which is by far one of the coolest I've been to. And then go soak in the college-town-amidst-nature atmosphere! (Err.. that means really really really cheap microbrews and live music!)

Find any smaller town with a big college and you are gauranteed some crazy bar nights. I know the town where I went to college (boring Corvallis, Oregon) provided many outrageous, unforgettable party nights.

Amen to both Charleston, NC and Flagstaff, AZ

I love cincy, but most people know it i guess.

Lexington, Ky doesn't dissapoint with it's college town status, but Louisville is much better. Visit the Bluegrass Brewing Co. (or the BBC as it's known) for a microbrew. we should all know there are like 20 liquors or beers KY is known for...

why do i know all this, i'm 17...

If in Canada, go to Kitchener/Waterloo (1 hour west of Toronto) especially during second week in October for Octoberfest. It’s the second biggest Octoberfest in the world and it lasts 10 days with many drunken places to go.

Also during the rest of the year there is the University of Waterloo and WLU within a stones throw of each other with soooo many bars, pubs, and clubs between the two schools. Just follow the crowds for the good clubs and you will have a good time.

Cheers
