my friend and I are planning on going to Thailand for NYE and want to go to the FMP on the 3rd jan.
where is the best place to stay on koh phangan?
or is it better to stay on koh samui and catch the boat over for the party?

a quick revivial!!! the full moon party (monthly) is fucking class, i know a lot of people that have been and i always seem to miss it  i am going this year in june though. its around the end of june! is anyone else gonna be there??

he is right, there is one atleast every month as well as smaller parties on the beach all the time
does anyone remember the thread from last year sometime where the girl got high at a full moon party and slept with several of the locals?
she doesnt post her anymore i think

I think there is a party there everynight, except the night before political elections. I was there last summer and it just happened to be the night before a major election, everything was shut down-bummer.
From my experience, Ko Phangan (Hat Rin) is not at all like other parts of Thailand. It's dirty, expensive, and the people aren't as nice. If you're going to party, lock up your belongings and only take the money you want to spend. I wouldn't recommend staying right on the beach at Hat Rin, I heard countless stories of drunken break-ins. There are lots of places just off the beach which are 'safer'
