You'll travel anywhere?? I think I would go to morocco, egypt, turkey, greece, oz, nz, thailand, south africa, kenya, india, peru, brazil... oh man the list goes on and on and on.
you don't have to go to europe for histroy and art. i like both and i saw a lot of both but some days i just walked around and marveled at how beautiful it all was. and some days i enjoyed the bars. it all depended on how i felt.

Slight change of plans. I was eyeing Japan for a while, but it turns out the college i'm going to let's you go to Japan for your last year to work.

So i'm back to fiddling between europe or south east asia. I hate sleeping in rooms with bugs (spiders especially), so I think accomidations in europe would suit me better to those of SEA. This is going to be a tough choice.

I would be curious to know what the others have experienced, but during my 6-month stay in Asia I only once saw a spider - just outside my room- and once had cockroaches, both times in Nepal.

I'll be honest, as sweaty and gross as I was, I could have given birth to a spider and I would have no recollection. I think the prospect of bugs or vermin bothers me more when I am actually clean. But I didn't see anything major, for sure.

Wow weird, while reading that post I saw a spider crawl onto my monitor, and you also have 666 posts, which isn't really relevant I guess.

I'm mostly just scared of spiders, not any other bugs. I've been camping 5 times and dreaded going to sleep every night. So can anyone else who's been to Thailand tell me if they saw very many spiders in their rooms?

I have been there a handful of times and I don't think I have seen a single spider. Certainly not in Bangkok or the islands for that matter. I stayed in more rural accomodations in the north and there were some spiders outside, but even then nothing too major. I HATE spiders by the way so I would have noticed if they were around. Don't sweat it.

I've only really seen spiders when I was in the jungle here in SEA. Oh and I've seen piles of spiders for sale by the side of the road in Cambodia. Yum yum yum. But other than that, can't say I have any unpleasant memories of buggy encounters in dorms other than mosquitoes...
