My Vegas adventure will be ending at the end of April. I will be returning to Michigan. So as I can enjoy cheap rent and finally finish my degree. So yes, in September I will be in Michigan. So I will definitely be up for a drink with anyone who cares to visit.

Are you going to stay in the Cuzco area the whole time (besides the Inca Trail thing) or hitting somewhere else? I'm thinking of doing a horseback ride in the Sacred Valley. Never ridden a horse, so it could be interesting. HAHA.

All right, Nicole, I found that website with all the tour operators:

http://www.andeantravelweb.com/peru/...operators.html

Looks like all of them have availability for September, but the months preceding are booking up, so we'd better move on this! I've bookmarked about 8 or 9 of them, and I'll start doing research here on them this week. I'll let you know what I find out.

Oh, and Rob: You can count on me hanging with you the night before I leave, if that's okay with you. Heck, I'll even let you keep my car at your place while I'm gone and let you give me a ride to the airport...!

Hey, and I'll keep you in the loop about Columbus meetups starting in April...

Too kind too kind you are. For sure, a nice trip to C-bus would be fun.

Thanks for the link, I've been checking out some of them here at work, and I've bookmarked a few and I've already emailed a few others and explained that my passport isn't here yet but I guess they have to have the actual # to buy the permit. They said I should be okay though if I get on it right away. Some places will let me use the # of my old expired passport, but others won't.

The pricing is insane. One place was the same amount as the freaking flight to Peru! But I'm not trying to go on some sketchy, generic "Inca Bob's" or something haha.

Do they still give you your old passport back? They used to just punch a hole in it to invalidate it, if they still do that you could bring along both and use your old number to reserve a spot.

And you should come to Ann Arbor, I think you'd like it.

So I was just reading the peru area on Yahoo Answers, and some Peruvian guy posted this:

Women's breasts, or a Pisco sour...?

I probably won't stay in Cuzco much more than I need to...maybe a day or two to acclimate to the altitude. I want to see the Nazca Lines as my second choice of sights in Peru. I'll probably stay in Peru itself for a bit over a week total. I just ordered my guidebook from the library, so will start doing research soon...

HAHA the damn Pisco sour... got jokes do ya?! hehe

Yeah I'm only spending a day or 2 in Lima, I'm going to try to go hang gliding while I'm there. I wanted to check out Iquitos but it looks like a really expensive trip. It's only accessible by plane or boat.

I am definitely making it down to Lake Titicaca for a few days.

Okay, so here's the status on Macchu Picchu and Peru. I have bought my ticket to Lima (Spirit Airlines), bought my ticket the very next morning to Cuzco (www.taca.com), and have decided upon a Inca Trail trekking company.

Although they are not the cheapest I found, the reviews I read about them are uniformly great. They treat their porters the best of all, I've read, so I'm going with Llama Path (www.llamapath.com). The price for the 3 Day/4 Night Inca Trail trek is $390 with my student discount. Other companies I considered, in order of price, are below:

United Mice, $365 student (www.unitedmice.com)
Andean Life, $385 student (www.andeanlife.com)
Peru Treks, $425, though I read some were disappointed with them (www.perutreks.com)
Chaska Tours, $435 (www.chaskatours.com)
Enigma Peru, $485 (www.enigmaperu.com)

Nicole, from looking at the various website, July is pretty much sold out on the Inca Trail, and August is beginning to book up. So, September can't be far behind...so, I'd book soon!

And now, saving the biggest announcement for last: Jenny is going with me to Peru and the Inca Trail! I was thinking that since I'm buying positive space tickets rather than flying standby on other carriers (which for the mos part she can't do), why not? I knew she wanted to go, so I asked her last night and she was pretty jazzed about it, I can tell you...

Woo Hoo! I'm going to Peru!!!!! I've been so jealous hearing his plans for this trip. I didn't want to say anything about wanting to go since he's had such bad luck with other people backing out. (Obviously not very good at hiding it though.) Now I've got to buy MY tickets & GET BACK IN SHAPE! I've been a bad girl this past year & haven't been running & working out like I should.
