Default Lyon or Marseilles?

Ok, so, my friend and I are in the process of trying to finalize our summer trip plans and were planning on stopping in either Lyon or Marseilles? Any suggestions? We would like to go to both, but we only have so much time and a lot of other places to see! So what does everyone think?

I would go to Nice instead, by far more picturesque. If you have a few days, you could also go to Marseilles. They are quite close, as is Monte Carlo. Happy Travels

I don't know much about Marseilles but I'm sure it holds exciting discoveries. I'd say you can't go wrong with either one. In Lyon there's tons of restaurants per capita, fast trains and passageways through buildings that connect with streets, except only locals know where they are.

Hey
So I've never been to Mariselles, but I've been to Lyon. It's a pretty cool city, very diverse and young. I've also been to Nice, which is also pretty cool although quite small. The beach is rocks as well. Monte Carlo sucks ass in my opinion, just a bunch of rich people. If you are the South of France, I would try to get over to Italy to Cinque Terre. That place is beautiful.
