This place was like a little slice of heaven in the middle of my "fly by the seat of your pants and end up where you end up" backpacking trip accross Europe.
After dealing with dingy, dangerous, and downright crappy hostels in both Paris and Rome this place was a dream come true.
It's a bit outside the city itself in a wooded area, but it's very easy to get to once you have the directions. You have to take a couple of busses from the ZooGardens station and then there's just a short walk down a path in the woods to get to it.
Positives:
-Beautiful, well maintained, and peaceful grounds.
-Extremely clean and comfortable dorms and common areas
-Cheap services like laundry and breakfast
-No curfew or lockouts
-Extremely friendly and helpful staff
-Wasn't busy even though it was the height of tourist season
-Hot showers (Oh bliss!)
-Extremely cheap for the quality of hostel
Negatives:
-Hard to find the first time around, make sure you write down, call, or e-mail for directions.
-Communal showers
-No communal kitchen
-Bunkbeds in larger dormatory rooms
When we reserved our beds at this hostel I thought it was going to be another horrible place just due to the price. I would happily pay tripple to stay there again.
