I'm heading to Europe for the first time on the 30th of Nov. and will be landing in Barcelona. I know I can check all the tourist guidebook stuff, but it seems to me that, collectively this is the best place to get any information. Any help is appreciated. Gracias.

A lotta TPunks stayed at the Kabul Hostel when we met up in Barca last summer. Seemed to be THE party place, and I know it comes highly recommended. (Unless you like to sleep.)

Personally, I like a little local flavor, so I was more than happy to stay in the suburbs at Hôme Guest House. It's a ways out of the way, and requires a 15 min. metro ride into town, but I loooooved it anyway. The metro closes at 1, but if you party 'til dawn, you can always be ready for the FIRST metro back

Regardless, as long as you aren't bedding down in the sketchy Raval neighborhood by Las Ramblas, you should be alright no matter where you go.

I just got back from Sea Point hostel. Walk out the door and you're on the beach, and the walk into Las Ramblas and the main area is a nice one. It has a great atmosphere, the staff are so great, and the rooms are clean and ensuite. There's breakfast provided, although I was never awake early enough.

Kabul all the way...

can't beat the location as you are off les ramblas in placa reial, it's beautiful and close to everything - and it's a massive party - with an awesome kebab shop about three minutes away. so good.

I recommend
Alberg Palau...a small hostel that's nice, clean and near Ramblas.
Sun and Moon also seems good, i knew a girl who stayed there.
These hostels are within a 10 minute walk from Las Ramblas, and Alberg Palau, like a 10 minute walk to the sea. But its another 10 minutes to the beach...cuz barcelona is filled with damn boats.

Check out www.hostelz.com
don't online book, but call them up or emai them. Saves you money.
