Both of us had no idea Salerno was going to be such a cool place to hang. My pal hooked us up in this 'indie' place runned by a nice Canadian gal - mysalernoapartment.com, cool room at a really decent price and we were allowed to use the kitchen, so we ended up staying an extra 3 days. (Awesome Martini and crepe bar around the corner!) We managed to avoid hoards of tourists there - with the exception of the daytrips we took to Positano, Paestum and Pompeii. We found the bars and clubs to be in 2 areas: the a strip of beachbars on the immdeiate outskirts and the other bars/restaurants concentrated on Via Roma - it was sooooo packed when we were there. Check out Al Cool cafe on Vicolo Colonne off via Roma (go up the little alley/street beside Easy Riders bar).
Gerry¡¯s Gelateria on Via Giovanni da Procida 33, a little walk from Alcool Cafe has the best gelato in the south!!!! Plus there is a little pizza place across the way you can get a fresh mini pizza for 1euro.
hey, If anyone can give me a heads up on good places in Barcelona to stay and any inside tips, I'd appreciate it!
