So when I got into Amsterdam, I had nothing planned and it was pouring down rain! I was approached by a "runner" on Centraal Station and she asked me if i needed accomodation-and my first instinct was to say "No, Thank You" but between the rain and the extra 30kilos on my back, I went for it...
After a 15 minute ride on the metro, we were near the Amstel River, and she took me to a really comfortable house and checked me in a room normally for two people... only charging me 25EUROS for each night (I stayed for three)... I was able to use the kitchen, wash my clothes and I also had a key to my room and the house... it was awesome! like being at home, but halfway across the globe...

The runner also took me to some of the best coffeeshops in the center (and the couple of really good ones close to the house)...

If you're ever in Amsterdam, these guys will hook you up... if you're a big group, or stay longer the prices go down (sometimes only 20EURO per person, for a private room!)... this is her email, tell her I sent you!
