Ring Hostel, Forio de Ischia, Italy
OH my god, I sooooooooooo love this place, and will be returning next year with my wife, as she was in France with her mom while I was staying on Ischia Island. Anyways, there are 2 brothers who run this place, and it is actually the home they grew up in, and they soon turned it into a Hostel. They also own a hotel on the Island. Anyway, the only tough part is that you have to make your way to the hotel to check in, where when I arrived, there grandmother cooked me the most fabulous lunch, right when i arrived to check in. SOOOO great. They put me on the back of a scooter and took me to the hostel. It is 3 stories tall, and the Italian design is so beautiful. I had a private room on the third floor, but every floor had a common area and kitchen. The top floor had the best patio with a view of the volcano, and then you could climb up onto the rooftop for a terrific view of the Med. Not much was included while there, but they always offer a dinner for hostel travelers once again prepared by there grandmother. Talk about true Italian cooking. Oh yeah. The hostel is a small walk fromt the town center of Forio, but it is the most pleasant walk, and if you ask, there is a grocer directly next door. I was buying bigsize Peroni for 1 euro, and bottles of wine for 2 euro. I can't say enough about this hostel!!! Just perfect. Here are some picks. The yellow building is the hostel.
