i'm actually interested in trying shrooms now just to see how bad they taste.*
its like when someone eats something or smells something and is like, 'ewww, this is terrible, try this' or 'smell this'.* and of course you do it, just out of curiousity to find out what other people define as 'terrible'.* so now everyone says shrooms are so bad, that im interested to try them just to see what 'so bad' is.* i dont anticipate liking the taste but i'm interested to see if its the worst thing ive ever had, cause ive eaten some pretty foul stuff.

I've found that they really don't have that bad of a flavor, but I would never eat something like that for the taste... Also, I don't know if this helps, but I’ve always been told that it'll work better (or faster) if you keep the shrooms under your tongue. I was told that it’d absorb faster through your saliva glands than your stomach. However this is not an easy task and makes the taste even worse, especially if you take a lot.

I recommend you try the Mexicans, as Astro suggested. They are really pleasant and not a downer like weed. I didnt try mushrooms in Amsterdam, but did them once in a while in London and it was always a good time. Go somewhere in nature as it adds to the visual coolness of it all. Of course there is always the old standby, the Van Gogh museum. Talk to the guy you buy them from, he will recommend the dosage for you and what to do if you start freaking out. Ive been told to take them with dairy to enhance the effects and keep some OJ nearby for when you want to snap out of it quickly.

I'd suggest the tea route, then load it with sugar or honey to cut the funky flavor. Of course, this assumes that I have tried shrooms before, or any other hallucinegen... :D

When I got back from my eurotrip to my great surprise I found they had opened a shroomie shop in Galway and I got to try all the amsterdam stuff from the comfort of my own town.
They sell them in portions I've done 3 portions at a time without completely losing it. One portion of any of them is fairly mild you need to take two or more to actually start seeing major halluciations. So you'll be safe enough doing one portion of any of them
Mexican truffles are the lightest and most pleasent buzz they taste like shite, sortof like your chewing on a battery but they do the trick. Their not mushrooms ether they look like little balls of dirt.
Don't go out to busy places (like pubs where everyones pissed) I found that hell on earth, I didn't freak out and start seeing peoples faces melt or anything I just felt horrible, with a group of friends it's great on your own it's even better! enclosed spaces are preaty cool your mind has less destractions and you can just let the buzz flow without worry of looking like a tit infront of a crowd, so if you are in a crowd when buzzing try and find a jacks and sit in there for a few minutes.
I don't know about everyone else but the guys selling weed and shrooms have a speel, allot probably haven't tryed their wares so I wouldn't relie on them much I heard so many repeating the same rigamarol over and over about different stuff, I wouldn't really trust their advice. Just go by price the more expensive it is the more fucked up you get.
You won't go completely out of it on one portion so relax and enjoy!

Good choice. Just remember, dont rip out your own eyeballs. It may seem like a good idea at the time, but youll regret it later.

And here I was, checking into a hotel room in Las Vegas on a head full of acid, under a fake name and with the intent to commit capital fraud...

went to amsterdam for a high school leavers bash i organised for a whole bunch of us.
had a shroomz sandwich (just in between some bread literally) it tasted awful but the trip was absolutely hilarious. we were in a room - aka confined, but i think after about an hour we went out and got smashed and partied, had a great night.
in my humble opinion, there is no point going to the Dam if you are going to worry about stuff. it's a pretty dodgy place - always keep an eye out and stick with people, but if you do so, and let yourself enjoy yourself - you'll have the best time of your life (if you love partying that is!).
cheers, and check out Escape!
take it easy

I don't think I am qualified to talk as I have never done shrooms, pot or anything like it. I will say though that there has been reasons for that. As Omisan has said dried Shrooms are illegal but heres the thing-until I read that I had no idea. Never do anything you might think is illegal as it could get you in serious trouble.
Whatever you do, be safe and give us an update of your trip.

I'm heading to Amsterdam for my first time here very soon and I too will be tasting the fruits of a pile of shit. My advice as an experienced tripper is that if you start to have some negative thoughts, realize that they are transient (as all things are), and find a focul point outside yourself. People most frequently freakout when they think about themself to too great an extent, the ego is the enemy on a trip, sit in a park and establish a psychic link to a tree or something when having hard times, if you do this it will pass shortly and you can go back to laughing and having fun. Good luck.

Dude, seriously bad idea to use anything hallucinegenic in a foreign area, around people you don't know and in a place you're not familiar with. I am the voice of experience of sorts.*
Stick with the ganj. Don't try to show how big your balls are by hanging with the big dogs. Seriously, not a wise decision.

I soooo agree, I had a mushi shake in bali and ended up locking myself in my room for two days over sheer paranoia. Still had a wicked time but was spewing I wasted two days of a 7 day trip in my room instead of out and about.

well i hit up amsterdam. when i got there i spent the first few days just bumping around and getting reaquainted with the city. ive been there a few times before but i cant say im an expert or anything like that.
after a few days there my gf and i decided it was time to go into the shroom world. we went to a place recommended by some people we talked to and bought some mexicans.
the trip ended up being really great. alot of laughing followed by more laughing, then i stared up at the sky for a while and then laughed some more. the whole deal was excellent.
thanks for all the advice. i can see how a trip could turn ugly now that ive had a good one, and to think of the reverse, it being terror instead of laughter is a pretty awful thought but i think teh fact that i had a few days to orient myself with the area and was comfortable with teh decision helped.

Was in adam a month or so ago, i haven't had shrooms in a long long long time, and i wanted to try them, my suggestion:
ask the shopkeeps for which ones just make you happy and are not too intense, since it's your first time, i went with the 'wet' or fresh ones, i think they were the mexican ones, and i went with the 'full' dose.
i would also recommend either eating them with someone else or atleast having a sort of a babysitter, always a plus when tripping.
the shrooms i took were great, went to the red light district and ended up watching a porno cartoon at a sex museum, sitting on little shroom chairs. great fun, most importantly, start low, take it easy, if you like you can always try the hard ones later!

I'm gonna revive this thread here... but instead can we talk about accomodations?
Anyone stayed at a semi-clean hostel in Amsterdam? I am meeting a buddy there, and I'm booking a hostel, but he's probably not down with anything too grimey.
The Flying Pig is booked up, and is the Bulldog... anyone else have any suggestions?
