Hey all,
So, a friend and I are thinking of a 6 day excursion (a long weekend and skipping 2 days of classes) to visit friends in Montreal. 2 of those days would be travelling to and from Winnipeg, but we've both always wanted to see New York. We've been to Montreal, so it would just be to visit instead of sightseeing. I guess what I'm asking, is it possible to just take a train from Montreal to New York, then only have 2 days in New York, or is that just not enough time? I'm leaning towards not having enough time...but 6 days for both is all we can take off of school and work. Hopefully this makes sense and you have some advice to give! Thanks! |
I drove from Baltimore to Montreal once, and that was about 11 hours or so in the car. NYC is about 3.5 hours north of here, so do the math.
Approximately 410 miles from Montreal to NYC, so figure an average of 60 mph, that would take you roughly 6-7 hours. |
You could spend a lifetime in NYC and still never see it all, so it doesn't matter. I say go for it. Sounds like fun.

I'd say look into flying. Go to some of the airlines that have non-stop flights between the two, sign up for their E-mail Savers or Reminders or whatever special e-mail deals section they have.
You know your dates, so just watch the weekly/daily whatever e-mails they send you, and if you see a good one, POUNCE! Good luck... worldwidemike |
