haha. i actually didn't realise it was the same place from the movie until i started looking for more info about it. i've read some good stories but most are a few years old so i wonder if it's still the same nowadays. definitely sounds like an interesting place though...

I know the folks over at digihitch.com have a big meetup there every new years. Sounds like a pretty rad place

yea i saw that on their site.
apparently the slabs has gone a bit downhill in recent years from what i've read (more guns etc). still really want to go tho

There was a write up on it in this month's National Geographic Traveler. Can't seem to find a link to an online article though...

ah man that's a really nice offer but i don't know if i want it badly enough to make you go through that trouble!
do you have a semi-decent digital camera? i've used one as an alternative to a scanner before and it worked quite well...
