I made the mistake of traveling with a good friend of mine through out Cuba. We got along quite well for the first couple of days, and then for no reason he started to get an attitude with me. I though back to what may have happened to cause such a change in his demeanor, and all I could think of was he could not handle the fact that I am a people person, I got along with everyone we came across, Men, Woman, Young, Old, it did not matter I was friendly with them. He on the other hand was suspect of the people we met, he could not bring himself to trust anyone which kept him on the defencive most of the trip. We eventually had a huge blow out and he flew home from Havana, I stayed for another 3 weeks, treking around this wicked country and met some of the best people, and had some of the best times I have ever met in my travels.
I still do talk with him sometimes, but things have never been the same since that trip.
I have not traveled with a partner since that trip in 2000
I am sure people travel with friends all the time and have a blast, but be careful and know the person and the attitude towards other people before you go, it may save you some heart ache in the end.
