care to elaborate? i'm curious b/c some friends keep talking about going there. i've heard mixed reviews, but it does sound like more of a spring break party place...

never herd of either but i think ill choose hawaii coz everyone else did but seeing it dosnt matter since youve already booked your tickets there is no valid reason for me to post this..but i will do it anyway :crap:

I didn't like the place at all, it's waaayyyy too toursity. High rise resorts along the beach and McDonalds and Burger at every turn. It's not anything like Mexico, you can see that sort of stuff at home. Also, it's got a rep for having a really nice beach, but the beach is nothing special at all.

However, I'm probably a little biased because i stayed in a shitty hostel (kingdom hostel) while i was there and when you're travelling by yourself the hostel you stay in can make or break a place. The hostel was nice and all, but on the net they neglected to mention that they were located in the bronx of Mexico. The hostel had a 2 metre high cement wall around it with 1 metre high barbed wire fences on top of that and big steel gates with security guards. They told me not to leave the hostel at night and if i wanted to go to the beach i had to catch a taxi.....the beach was only 400 metres from the hostel!!! This American guy that was staying there attempted to walk to a resturant for dinner one night that was only 50 metres from the hostel and he got the crap beat outta him before he made it. It was a shitty shitty area.

But i did hear the nightlife is awsome, i wouldn't know though, i left after 2 nights.
