Okay. Planning to go to Italy from Feb. 2nd to the 11th.
Can anyone give me some pointers on winter weather thereabouts? I know the whole clothing gamut...I live in Colorado so I shouldn't be unprepared...gloves, hat, warm underwoolies and down overwoolies (yes, making up words). But are there any surprises I should know and prepare for? Freak blizzards, five hour long hail storms, lightning that'll core me like an apple? Should I expect a lot of snow?

There can be a big difference in climate in Italy depending on where you go. The south naturally is much warmer than the North. If you stay out of the mountains but are in the North/Central areas up to Milan in the north, you will be looking at temps from the 30's to 50's, maybe a bit of snow here and there, but not too much. If you head up intp the mountains, then, naturally there is a lot more snow. Enjoy!

Yeah. Planning on the usual locations. Rome. Florence. Possibly Cinque Terra and then Venice. So mild winter..add some humidity compared to Denver...sounds like fun.
