Hey my name is Jessi and I'm just joined today. For starters, I'm going to be in Florence for four months this fall (2005) to study, and I'll be on my own out of school in Europe for Dec. and half of Jan. I have been trying to prepare myself as much as I can- lots of reading- but the more research I do, the more I find I have never been so afraid to own a pair of ovaries... I keep hearing these horror stories about young 19-year-olds like myself who just wanted to travel and then they disappear or get hurt or other freaky things. My fear would never keep me from my travels, but a few reassuring words and/or safety tips from you fine friends wouldn't hurt. Any places that are really dangerous and I should just avoid all together?
