Check 'em out (I'm still looking for cheap fares to Iceland for that February Iceland Tpunk Meetup!!!)

Somehow, from California, with taxes & fees, it always comes out to be about $540 r/t this time of year. *grumble* I'm still waiting to get another BA special where I went for $200 r/t... now THAT was a fare sale!!
I have enough Virgin miles for a free trip, but I think I want to save up some more to get an upgrade to Upper Class and go in style

^ Same with Seattle. Although the SAS Christmas Calendar fares were pretty damn good... less than $500 for some really interesting destinations.
I guess the West Coast has better rates to asian cities.

^ I just looked at Mobissimo, and they have a rate of $407 on Continental from DFW including tax. They also had one for $395 I think from Opodo, but I don't know which airline it is. I used the dates June 10 to June 24 since I had no idea when you're going.

Hey thanks! Ya, it seems all the rates have dropped - I wonder if it's from the tsunami or new year or what? Anyways, I found something just under $400 from Continental outta DFW too - so that sounds halfway decent.
Good guess on the date, btw too. I'm tentatively planning on going 6/10-12.

Just so you know, probably after January or maybe even stretching into Feb. the rates are going to start climbing back up again. At least that's been my experience.

Anyone know of some of these amazing fares going the -other- way? I wouldn't mind getting home briefly from Africa (via london or whatnot) but I can't afford the usual 900+ it takes to get across the atlantic.

steph you could try
www.lastminute.com
www.expedia.co.uk
or pop into a local "flight centre" as they will always match any flight

For those of you interested in the February Iceland Meetup (so far, it's just me and a local friend), how do these fares sound? I know they are for departures through Jan. 31, not February, but I wanted to get a feel for what rates people will be willing to pay...
Travel from Boston:
Reykjavik from $275*
Travel from Baltimore:
Reykjavik from $275*
Travel from Minneapolis and Orlando:
Reykjavik from $325*
Last purchase date: January 18, 2005
Depart through: January 31, 2005
Minimum stay: Saturday night
Maximum stay: 30 days
Fares are round trip, per person, based on availability and subject to change at any time.

Any west coast deals for Iceland? I'm thinking I'm gonna *need* a vacation in February, as much as I'm trying to save up my vacation time.
