Travel Transportation Airs, Trains, Buses, and Boats, what should I do ? What´s a Eurail Pass? How to rent a car abroad ? Is it safe to take the bus?

Thumbs up

im a newbie, just getting the hang of this site, hopefully nobody has asked this yet....im planning on going to france for two weeks in august...ive heard different things about when to buy air fair..it seems like if i'm flexible about the days i'm traveling, last minute might be my best bet for locking down cheep flights...but i dont want to get screwed and end up having to dish out 3000 for airfair because i waited till the last minute...anyone have any relevant experience that might help me out?

thankyou!

Red face

Don't buy too early or too late - maybe about a month before is usually pretty good. For international flights maybe 4-5 weeks ahead, for closer domestic flights maybe 3-4 weeks is ok.

The bad news is, August is pretty much the peak season for travel, so it may be difficult to find a cheaper fare, but check the websites regularly, and if you find something that sounds about what you'd like to pay, I'd book it - it's a bit like the stock market - the price might go down a bit more, but then again, it might skyrocket...
