I am trying to find some airfare within South America that is reasonably priced. I will mostly be taking buses but a flight now and then would be a nice change and save some time. Anyone know of any that are on the cheaper side?
Thanks for the help!

nope. The only line I would fly down there would be Varig or Chile Air and neither are cheap.

mmm.. lets see.. i live in south america and i've got no clue..
I'll try to help: did you mean to come over here or to travel around? to travel around you could try to (at least in Argentina) check out Aerolíneas Argentinas or Austral, also Southernwinds (they had an issue with transporting drugs into Spain, so perhaps u could benefit of lower prices as they're trying to gain respect...), And also LADE (personaly i've never travelled with them, and i havent met anyone who has...)
But I'm afraid you wont find anything as cheap as those companies in Europe like Ryanair or easyJet... keep in mind that as of today the argentine peso (ARS) was: 3pesos = 1US Dollar, so all the prices you check out are actually tree times cheaper!!
Also, you will find GREAT coach seats for about 60 pesos that are great to sleep in. I would personaly recommend doing this (except if yore planning to go from Buenos Aires to Ushuaia, then if I had the money I would do it by airplane).
Hope this helped u out a bit!
Anything else just keep posting and I'll see what i can do!!

Oops, forgot to add that it of course depends on the lenght of your travel, its about 60 to go to the coast (beach) which is 450km from Buenos Aires... if you want totaly cheap, a trip with Plusmar cost me in January (our summer time) 33 pesos. (something like 11 dollars). And as u can do it in about 5hs it was a perfect seat.
To Bariloche and such is of course a bit more pricy, but really cheap once divided by three.
