Hard drugs are illegal in Amsterdam. Not that you can't get them, but just know - they are.

You can legally get weed (of course), hash, and *undried* mushrooms. Naturally, you can get them dried anyhow, but going by the letter of the law, they can only sell you fresh 'shrooms.

Weed-wise, being used to California-style chronic (or rather, not really, because I don't like it), the stuff in Amsterdam didn't seem strong at ALL, like everyone else said, but it was very tasty, clean, and paranoia-free. Look for a reputable coffeeshop (don't go to the tourist traps) and ask for a menu. Politely ask the counterperson what they recommend.. and hopefully you won't look like a tourist dupe and they'll hook you up with some tasty stuff.

Personally, I liked the hash in Europe much better, but that's just a personal preference.

You have to try the space cakes.... they rock. Just watch out, cause it takes at least an hour or so until you start to feel anything, so don't think they are not working and eat another or you will be tore up like a mo fo... but those cakes will for sure get you kite as a high.. :thumbup:

In Amsterdam I smoked Moroccan hash from a pipe and got absolutely ripped. I got both visual trips (neon signs melting or letters jumping around) and paranoia.

I loved the amsterdam part of my trip, just cuz it was sooo different to everything else that i did...

The frest mexican mushroom were my fav, and i second the space cakes. Was sitting in the bulldog on leidesplan (spelling?) and thought that they werent working, and had half another, and your right, bout an hour later i was freakin out... lol

Fun times... I want to go back to europe and just for oktoberfest and amsterdam again...
