My main destination is near Sarlat in southwest France. The nearest airports are Toulouse and Bordeaux. Would it be better to land in Paris and then take the train? I have no choice but to leave (from eastern Canada) in late May - early June so I can't avoid peak season but my understanding is that popular destinations like Paris and Amsterdam are cheaper than regional ones.
Thanks. |
Yeah, I'd say that flying into Paris and taking the train would be by far the easiest and likely the least expensive option.

For a long-haul flight on Air France or whomever, you'd be flying into Paris and then taking a regional flight to Toulouse or Bordeaux anyway, so it's a matter of paying a bit more to fly all the way and get there faster, or to catch the train, save some money, and take the time to stop and smell the sewer.. I mean, roses in Paris along the way. :)
