Hi,

I will be traveling through central Europe using a 21 day Saverpass with my wife. I would like to explore Interlaken/Gimmelwald and all the lifts and fernunculars.

Is there a Swiss Card or something, that will supplement my RaillPass, which gives me discounts or covers fares for these lifts, fernunculars, and private rails? Who issues it, and what's it called?

I'm hoping to combine this with Austrian-style hut-to-hut hiking. Anyone having anything to share would be greatly appreciated. Our scheduling is still flexible, what's the earliest in the year this area is viable for hiking over skiing?

thanx.

I don't think that there is a special pass for the special scenic trains in Switzerland, but you will get some discounts with your railpass on certain trains.

When I was in Switz I had to take this train that was almost a gondola up the side of the mountain. This was a steep climb!

It was covered under rail pass, and so was this trolley thing you could take to other small villages in the area.
