Hey all,

I'm headed to Spain, France, and Italy in a week or so for 3 weeks - I want to use Ryanair to get back to my departure city (barcelona) on the day before my flight leaves.

has anybody used this? It is so cheap and fast - it almost seems too good to be true...

Any advice on using/ buying tickets/ boarding/ travelling with Ryan air? I'm an American - anything I should know?

ryanair are pretty good only problem is that most of the airports they use are not central, have you tried easyjet? if you head in to central europe you could try wizzair.com or mytravellite.com goes to spain but only flys from birmingham but they have got some superdeals on at mo

FYI, the airport Ryanair uses as "Barcelona" is actually in a pretty town called Girona, about 1.5 hours north by bus. The Ryanair website has the info about where to catch it, or you could just take the train. It seems strange to us non-europeans that flights can be so cheap, but honestly, that's become the rule rather than the exception for intra-european travel. Have fun!!

I have flown by Ryanair with no problems. The seats may not be as comfy but its only a short flight anyway.
The key is to book your flight online the earlier the better as youll get a much cheaper flight, even web specials where you only pay tax really.
Check luggage restrictions (usually less than other flights) and if they have a special bus that transports you from the city to the airport (which they did in my case)

does company like RyanAir and EasyJet have special buses to transport people from the little towns where they are located to the big cities?? All the time?? that would be superb!

No, not really... but they do have links on their website about where you can find transpo. It's usually not difficult but it really does add to the time and effort. I usually prefer EasyJet because while the prices are on average a tiny bit higher than RyanAir, they usually use more major airports.
