I'll be arriving to Madrid from the states in the morning and then taking another flight to Barcelona 3 hours later. Am I going to have enough time to pick up my luggage and then check in (it's not a connecting flight so i have to get my luggage in Madrid and re-check them in). I only ask because the terminal where I arrive is different from the terminal I leave from. Stupid question, but are the terminals together or do I have to take a bus to get to another terminal?

I haven't been to the Madrid Airport, but yeah, 3 hours should be sufficient. You'll have to go through customs & immigration. I'm sure they have either a subway or a bus connecting the terminals. You can check out this website for more information, or do a google search on Barajas Airport and see what pops.

That's A LOT of time. It should be more then enough. You'll probobly have at least an hour and a half to spare. So, no worries. Never been to Madrid airport so I donno specifically but it shouldn't be too complicated. Most big airports are connected by a walkway.

I know this is kinda late but hey maybe I'll help someone else. Ok well when I arrived in Madrid all I did was pick up my baggage and left...They didn't have a customs area or anything. I just grabbed my bags and left...no security or anything....didnt even get a passport stamp. I don't other than that.

Did you arrive in Spain from another European country, or did you arrive from the US? They don't make you go through customs if you're arriving from within the EU.

So, THAT'S why you looked familiar in Philly, Amber! All those signs in the Madrid airport with your face on them:

"WANTED: Have you seen this woman? Wanted for sneaking into the country without passing customs. Possible security threat..."
