Hey everybody this is my first time on the boards so just want to say hello. So anyway there are 4 of us going to the UK in the summer of '05 and we plan to spend a few days in Berlin. Having never been to Berlin I was wondering what would be the best (and cheapest) way to get there from London. I know there is the low cost airlines like Ryanair but they fly out of Stansted which is kinda hard to get to as far as i know. So any ideas on how to get there? Thanks.

FIRST OFF.....

WELCOME TO THE BOARDS!!!!!!!!!

Stanstad Express from Liverpool Station is a 50 minute train ride for, i think, 15 pounds....you can also take the bus there for less.......if you have a Eurorail pass then it wouldnt cost anything but the ferry to France which is about 60 Euro if you are under 26.......

other then that you arent going to find a much cheaper solution.......

err.......perhaps BUSABOUT......there are topics in here about it....or you can get the link for a one way busabout ticket from the TRAVELPUNK homepage........talk to Voyd if you have any other questions about the buses.

I'd go for the rail. Except going to and from home, all the major traveling I've done in europe has been on rail, and it's worth it. You'll see some amazing stuff, and it's kinda nice to lay back, have a beer and watch the world zip past the window.
