I have never booked online a plane ticket so how does it work ??? I found one that leaves on the 20 of september from Van, it goes too La and from there too sydney from there too melbourne where I wanna start my trip for 650, which I guess isnt too bad, all on united airways. but like I said Im not sure really how to book, and do I print something out at the end that I show at the air port or what ??? Im totaly not sure about how this works ??

Are you buying the ticket through a consolidator like expedia, orbitz, cheap tickets / etc or directly from the United Airlines website? Usually when you purchase a ticket online you print out the final page with your confirmation code and flight info / itinerary, and they will mail you the actual ticket. Occasionally some consolidators only sell e-tickets, in which case you print out your information and bring that to the check-in desk at the airport with your passport and sometimes the credit card used to purchase the ticket. Either way you will find out at the time of purchase whether you're getting a paper ticket or an e-ticket.
$650 is a fantastic deal from Vancouver to Melbourne! Is that one way or r/t?
The process is quite easy - if you order your ticket online, print out your confirmation (unless the site indicates that you MUST have paper tickets, in which case they'll mail 'em to you).
You take the printout of the confirmation to the airport when you check in - show them that, and your passport, and you're set! Remember to keep the printout for your return trip. It's generally not a problem if you DON'T have it (i.e. your name is in the system) - but it's good to have the return information, since passport control/customs will often ask to see your return ticket when you arrive.
Anyway, it's nothing to stress about - you'll be just fine!

Anyways I forgot too bookmark the page for the 650 flight however when I check out expedia or something everything else is in the 1400 range making me think it was a hoakey site anyways...... Oh well, I guess Im gonna have too think hard and serch through my history
