Default Renting a car in Latin 'Murica

Hola, ya'll, this should spark some discussion.

The GF and I are talking about road tripping the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica, from Liberia to Tamarindo, Monteverde, to Manuel Antonio, down to Drake Bay in a couple months.

Much as I'd like to bus the thing and all, she and I discussed it, and spending $250-300 on a rental 4x4 (like a Prado or similar Toyota SUV) would be best. It's not like she's opposed to it, but given the amount of area we want to cover in the time we have, driving will afford us more time to see the countryside and stop as we please. I can't help but agree, and taking an 8 hour bus ride isn't always the best option. Especially since we are stuck on that route.

Anyway, anyone have experience renting and navigating? If Ticapacker still posts here, any suggestions? Is there a AAA-type mapping program I can use to navigate ahead the major roads to use to get where I'm going?

Have at it, Punks!

Once you have rented a car from Mucia the airport, the airport's time to explore this beautiful region of the Iberian Peninsula. There are several noteworthy tourist attractions in Murcia. Cathedral of the Diocese of Cartagena is one such appeal.
