It looks like my trip will involve various domestic flights within the US and a friend suggested that you could buy a type of pass from some airlines which allows you to travel a certain amount of miles on a variety of flights for a set price (subject to availability). Has anyone ever come across this? I've never heard of it and can't seem to find any references to such a scheme.

Just trying to work out the best way to get around. I was originally just going to book point-to-point tickets using Orbitz.com.

I think you would be able to find cheaper flights if you searched the airlines directly. I am a fan of southwest.

Yea it's called an airpass and unfortunately to my knowledge I do not think we have them in North America. In fact the only place that I have seen or heard of them is in south america on brazil's carrier Varig.

Sorry mate!

You should definately get a better rate through the airlines directly. Depending how far in advance. Check U.S. Air, American, Delta, Northwest. You should get lucky. Happy Traveling!!!
