So I didn't take these, but I thought that some might appreciate some inspiration for gorgeous new places to check out.

BE INSPIRED!

(But not if you have a 56k modem - you've been warned!)

I've seen a few of those before. They're crazy. Thanks for sharing

She wasn't kidding about the 56k part though.

I love the volcano one. I want to climb a volcano now! :D

Actually. Maybe just fly above one so I can actually see it.

As a Geography major those made me smile :D

My favorite is the one right under the volcano and the abandoned city of Pripiat, near the nuclear power plant at Chernobyl.

Me too! I'd love to be able to explore an abandoned city... preferably without the risk of growing additional appendages soon after.

walking thru where other people use to live and work and play would be a neat experience. What's the movie that Johnny Knoxville's company did. It's called some thing like 10 places not to visit.... but Chernobyl and that area are in it

^^It is a good experience, but totally weird too.. cause you start imagining people leaving their house, or everything for that matter, behind. I mean... imagine leaving ALL you have behind...

There's this town in Syria, Al Quneitra, that was bombed and fired at by the Israeli Army... and it gives you this totaly chilly feeling going through the deserted streets. But it's worth doing it at least once.

I was also in a town that used to have about 1200 inhabitants, but now there are only 20. And I swear tha when we drove around we must have seen 14...This town, San Mauricio, in the Province of Buenos Aires, became a ghost town when the train stopped going by. Now there's a lady in charge on the "museum" (a single room with some of the founder's furniture), the chapel, she's the nurse and she geeted us when we entered the town. We got there at dusk... it was a totally eerie experience!

I have been to 2 of those. One is Rio and one is in Berlin. The Berlin one is not marked but it is the one of TONS of people covering the streets surrounded by trees with the gold statue in the middle. That's Tiergarten. A nice place as well.

Maybe we could get superpowers. :D

I love wandering through ruins. Unless there are about 200 other tourists doing the same with me.
