With the weather being so beautiful I've been snapping photos left and right. Seattle is such a photogenic city, it's hard to get a bad shot even in the rain.
And you gotta love Mount Rainier at sunset! It's hard to put in perspective exactly how freaking ENORMOUS Mount Rainier really is unless you see it. Keep in mind that it's about 75-100 miles away from where this picture was taken. The water is Lake Washington with one of the floating bridges visible (Bill Gates' compound is visible on the water.) This pic was taken about 10 blocks or so from my house.
You can get a little bit of perspective of the size of the mountain if you look at the other water/sunset pictures, which show the Cascade Mountains, and those are bigger than anything on the eastern side of the Mississippi River. Mount Rainier literally dwarfs anything else around it. It's incredible and tends to cause a lot of traffic accidents on some days from people gawking at the view!! Also, there are pics of the view from my new office. Not a bad view but the office itself is really tiny. And just outside the office door is a view of Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains. Is this a great place to live or what?
