Nicaragua = gorgeous, and here are the pics to prove it!
I ended up staying the longest time in Nicaragua - must've been close to four weeks or so! Here are the links to the albums...
Pics from Leon (the hostel had pet tortoises wandering around), Volcan Masaya and Laguna de Apoyo
Crazy hike up Volcan Telica with Quetzaltrekkers
Bull runs at Granada and chilling on Isle de Ometepe (largest freshwater island in the world).
Surf's up at San Juan del Sur and volcano boarding Cerro Negro
Samples!!!
Cathedrals, cockfights, volcanoes, sulfur-spewing craters, chicken buses, sunsets and the ubiquitous frijoles...
Surf at San Juan, and Cerro Negro, where you can board down a volcano in a sexy orange jumpsuit! I literally ate a lot of dirt at high speed, good times!

Everything looks badass so far Hwei!!! Sorry to hear your C.A. adventure is over already. At least it stayed hurricane free while you were there. We were wondering where you were with the storm coming. Hope you are getting re-settled in at college And thanks for all the trip updates. Your blog is just damn FUN to read. You are great with words

Thanks Marc!! I'm sad to be off the road although it's scaring me how quickly I'll settle into the little college life (and net addiction - back on the boards!!). I'm really glad you enjoyed the updates, and hopefully I'll get around to doing some writeups that I never did...my updating kind of fizzled out once I hit Costa Rica.

As always - great photos freespiritz.
I really appreciate how well you document your travels, both photographically and through your writing.

Ahaha...because I was backpacking around Australia and New Zealand, I hope that's at least a somewhat legitimate excuse. :P

I'm super in love with Nicaragua too! I worked with Quetzaltrekkers in Leon for a few months in '08. Incredible place, incredible people, incredible experience.
