Default Photos - Everest and other Himalayan highlights

Pics from my hike to Everest Base Camp, over the Chola Pass and on to the Gokyo region are up on Facebook, thanks to...lack of internet. The mountains in Nepal are astounding, I hope my little captured glimpses do them a little bit of justice.

Check em out here! I hope the links work!

Gokyo Ri looks mindblowing! The water almost looked foggy in your "perfection" photo, was it? Gorgeous Hwei!

Friggin awesome dude!! Looks like you had great weather!

Did you have to pay any park fees to do the hike?? Did any of the people you were with attempt Mt Everest?

Very impressed

Thanks guys! I caught the tail end of the climbing season and luckily got great weather (apart from some cloudy days and my first ascent of Gokyo Ri in a bunch of snow). There's a 1000 rupee entrance fee (I think) if you go independently...you definitely need the park permits. I hired a guide/all-inclusive for a little more money than I really should've paid, but I was running on no research - next time I'll know better!

I met one dude who summited Everest - from Guatemala, and the first from his country to do the North Face I think (2nd summiter overall from Guate). I don't think I'll ever have the time/guts/patience/money to do that mountain!

Thanks Godfather!

(If anyone ever wants a hiking buddy, call me up...i'd do the himalayas again in an instant!)

And Joey...I really don't remember if the water was foggy. My brain was a little though.

AWESOME pictures...I have got to get there some day. A trip of that magnitude might have to be my 30th (or 40th) present to myself down the road...
