Well ok so I'm kinda new here and stuff, so let me just start with a hi and thanks for having me here.

Going to the main reason I posted this. . . I have been traveling since pretty much before I was born but the other day while reading one of my favorite alternative weekly papers I passed by an article on the WSA Passport, I mean dude! I can enter any country without all the freaking hassle I would be officially a citizen of the world, but where is the catch?? well simple it's on the fact that so little people know about this well let's just say the customs authorities, still I'm getting all the infor mation I can and so far it has very few cons, don't get me wrong I have my U.S passport and my Venezuelan passport as well & guess what I have no need to renounce to any of them so hopefully I'll be getting this new passport by the end of the following week! well what do you think about it? :greenguy:

It doesn't appear to be legitimate. WSA admits that anyone who submits a photograph, fingerprints, and the required fee can obtain one.

Since it doesn't prove identity, citizenship or right to pass freely, nor is it recognized by most countries (the site lists 'de facto' recognition, but their standard for recognition is that someone somewhere used it when crossing a border - not very likely to be much help if that's what you're depending on to get you into another country)

Governments are pretty protective of their turf, and they feel only they can issue passports...

Hrmm.. I wonder if it'd be good for traveling to places that US citizens are restricted from entering. i.e. Cuba or Cambodia...

Since when are U.S. citizens restricted from entering Cambodia? Cuba yes, but Cambodia I believe is perfectly acceptable for U.S. citizens to travel to.

Yeah, Cambodia is fine...heck, they have a consulate here in the U.S.! At least that's where I sent my passport for my trip there back in 2001...

I'm with the others on this, sounds like a "come on" sales pitch to get you to fork out the money for this WSA passport. My guess is it'll be about as useful as the "international drivers license"...

I don't think there's a travel ban on Cambodia, like with Cuba, but when I was looking into an SE Asia trip, the State Department was being very discouraging of Americans traveling there. I think, if anything, it's some sort of trade dispute and they don't want us spending money there. Whatever. I'm sure if our gov't doesn't like us spending money there, we probably should.

Emmanuel, just think of the hassle!!! Having one passport is enough stress of not getting robbed, getting it lost, misplaced, keeping it with you at all times.....

Think of what it'd be like with 3!!! I think a US Passport and a "Venezolano" one will be just fine for anywhere in the world.

My father has people who work for him from Cambodia. They became citzens here and travel back to Cambodia on occasion to visit family. They have never had any problems with it.

i worked for customs canada last summer, this WSA passport is a joke regardless of what they'd have you believe. and concerning American's travelling to Cuba, as far as Cuba is concerned, its perfectly legal for them to come, its the Americans who don't want you to go. To get around this, fly to Canada, then take a flight to Cuba. Cuba doesn't stamp passports, you just get an extra paper you have to keep with your passport during trip, so US customs has no way of finding out.
