Hello! I've been checking out T- PUNKS for the last couple days, this is a great site, lovin'every second. Hopin' you guys can help out with something. I am planning to spend a few years in europe, starting this comming spring. In order to cover the finances, I will need a "working vacation". I want to use England as a "home base", and do several side trips around europe. I have been reserching work visas online, and don't think I can get one. My English family ancestry doesn't meet the requirements. I don't have a desireable enough skill to get a british company to sponser a visa for me. and the USA does not appere to be a commonwealth country. As it looks now, the only way I can live, and work in England is if I become a U.K. citizen. Am I missing anything? Does anyone know of a way to get a work permit that I have over looked? If becoming a British citizen is the only way I can do it, that is fine by me. BUt, how do I go about getting citizenship in the U.K.? I've been looking at several websites, and none of them give any spacific instructions. I just sent an email to the British Embassy in Washington DC, but they say it will take 20 days for a reply, and calling them costs $2.10 / min. (every time I call a government office, i'm on hole forever, so skip that). I need to get the ball roling ASAP if I want to leave in the spring/ late winter. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
