Most people probably think you have to show picture ID to be allowed to travel. Actually this is not true in the US right now, if you refuse to show an ID they will simply put you through additional screening (wand you, frisk you, etc)...this is nice if for some reason you forgot your ID or it was lost or stolen.
Starting June 21st the TSA rule changes to not allow people to fly who
refuse to show ID. But if you say your id was
lost or stolen you can still travel with the additional search.
I guess this has no practical effect on anyone...just thought it was interesting.
