Credit 'Freezes'
Has anyone done one of these yet? I guess what you do is contact the three credit reporting agencies, you get them to put a freeze on your account. They wont report your credit history to lenders, thus the credit card companies wont issue you a credit card without knowing your history(or any loan).
Thought this wouldn't be a bad idea for an extended time away, in my case a year in Australia. I probably would not be able to get a credit card in Australia anyway, let alone would they use the U.S. reporting agencies, nor should I need one. Plus this gives me the feeling of safety if my identity were to be stolen.
Any opinions, or experience?
