All I know is that I have stuck with my "keep taking profits and get back in on options with higher stike prices" and I am up about 120% in the past 2 months.

It's all about Cramers Three Horsemen...

Speaking of stocks, an interesting one.

If you would've used the money to buy apple stock instead of the first apple ipod(399). It would be worth $5000 today.

I'm up 50% riding the Apple bandwagon since Feb. My cousin is up 110% doing the same, along with some more speculative stocks. I just wish I had more capital to put into the market.

Also if you're wanting to look at Mutual funds, look overseas. I don't trust the dollar anymore.

I hope the market never goes down for your guys sake. Investing isn't about making shitloads of money quickly - it's about making sure you lose as little as possible while still capturing upside gains.

The market has been good since 2003 and even a monkey can do well in a situation like that. The true test of a good investor is if he/she can minimze losses and possibly still make money in bad markets.

And most INDEX mutual funds do perform as well as the index minus tracking error for fees.

Question

So, how is everyone's investing going?

I did decent last Fall...but have since lost it all and then a bit due to the market and dollar tanking!

Need some new direction now. China has cooled off and domestic stocks are in the shytter. Any good new IPOs coming up? ETFs or precious metals? Forex? Any good ideas?

The options that I had went up, then down, thanks to Apple tanking due to not announcing anything mind blowing during this years Macworld convention.

My Garmin options ("puts") expired 2 weeks too soon. I had them for about 3 months knowing that they would eventually tank to $35 dollars per share, but they didn't hit that until about 2 weeks after mine expired! Sucks, I would have made a nice return had I had them for one more month.

I'll get back in the game soon (mostly options)...

DOH!

How did you know Garmin was going to tank that far, though? I can't believe it's tanked 75% in a few months. I thought it had great fundamentals!
