Unhappy

I'm planning for a trip to europe after I graduate, so I need to start saving now. I'd like to spend ~3 months traveling, so I need to know how much I need to save. I figure ~$500 airfare, + eurail pass, and daily spending. I like to visit museums and such, so that's probably going to bring up the price, but what did you spend when you went?

Thanks.

ohknacks- WELCOME TO THE BOARDS!

After you get the Eurail pass out of the way, hostels and general accommodations will take the biggest bite out of your budget. I stayed in private rooms quite a bit and it averaged about $30-$40 a night, overall, through western Europe.
If you stay in shared dorm rooms, the prices are much, much, cheaper.

Museums are actually fairly cheap. Get an ISIC(international student identification card) card and you'll get half off of all or most museums and castles in Europe.

Clubbing. This can be costly, so drink before you get there or limit your drink purchases, and you will save money overall .

For the more expensive Western European countries expect to pay $10-$20 a day per hostel (for rooms of 4-12 people). Food is about $7-$8 a meal if you go to places that have lots of locals, but there are food stands where you can get items for about $4 that will fill you up. Transportation is also about $1 each way on metros and trams so try to buy an all day or another type of special pass.

For Eastern Europe, hostels will be slightly cheaper, but you can take advantage of some nice hotels and very cheap rates or private rooms. Good meals will only costs around $5-$7 so you can spoil yourself there. Transportation in also cheap (taxi ride in Krakow is about $5 anywhere in the city from any point, metro in Prague is $.35 a ticket).
