is it true that your pin number for atm should only be 4 digits for travel in europe

Correct! You will need to change your PIN before going to most countries in Europe because the ATMs will not accept any more or less than 4 digits.

i used mine in Netherlands and Northern Ireland with no probs...5 digit pin...I would get in touch with your bank and they may be able to direct you to some over seas banks that they are partnered with for some good info on ATM's and over seas banking needs you might require

your both correct. A four or Five pin will work. anything else won't. My friend had a six digit one and no machines would work for her. So she had to get her mom to wire her money.

In Germany, there are machines only accepting the 4 number digits, others 4 or 5 number digits.
Otherwise I had no problems with my 5n-d card in France or Eastern Europe.

that is correct, if you have a 6 digit pin, you need to change it prior to leaving. The first time I went to europe I was not able to use my 6 digit pin. I changed it to a 5 digit pin the second time around and there was no problems at all.

hey I learned something your right! Its not all of Europe with the 4 digit personal id number.
I believe UK is for sure 4 digits only and sometime this week I will have the exacts for all European countries

Must only be certain ATM's, I used mine in the UK, and its 5 digits....London, Glasow, Edinburgh, and Belfast
