I'm 20 - Thai girl and pretty dead poor. I always dreaming of go backpacking somewhere but seem that the money is always the problem for me. I have worked and save for 3 years but I only got about 1500$ so far. I wonder how much it would need to travel in Europe for 2 months during May to June included the airfare and the rail pass.

I have no idea on airfare costs from your location, but a rail pass will vary. For two months, a fifteen day flexipass will costs you around 650 euro and is good for fifteen days within a two month period. For basic needs per day you could probably get away with 40 euro for non Scandinavian/Great Britain/Switzerland countries. This would mean sleeping in the biggest hostel room, eating only at supermarkets or street food, no partying, and limited sites. In that case, for two months with a rail pass you would need at least 3,000 euro plus airfare. Also travelling during those months also is more expensive, if you could, September/October or March/April are better times and the weather is not too bad.

Question

^ That's a decent estimate. Airfare and railpass alone will likely eat up almost all your funds. Then you'll prolly need at least 40 Es a day, but more if you're going to do more stuff.

Hey, EU ain't the cheapest place to travel!
