Employment in Europe?

As of right now, I am on schedule to graduate from college during the Summer of 2008 and I plan on starting Grad school in the Fall of 2009. This gives me roughly a year to get away from my books and have some fun.

I haven't started planning anything yet as I wont be leaving for another ~15 months. I was wondering what kind of advice some of you could lend on spending my time. Do you suggest I go the "normal" route of going for a couple months and having fun every day, or would it maybe be a better idea to spend a year or so overseas with having a job (something like finding an odd job in one country, holding it for a month or so and getting everything I can from the surrounding area and then move on and do the same in another area)?

Is something like this feasible? Thanks!

Thats pretty much what my wife and I are going to do in about a year. We plan on working a lot in hostels for free accomodation etc... And also working seasonal jobs, and we are both massage therapists, so we will be doing that everywhere we go to make money. In hostels and on beaches etc..... we plan on leaving with a nice budget, but totally are willing to make or save money anywhere we can to extend the trip. Hopefully to 18-24 months, or so. If the gods like us, permanently!!! Luckily, we will make a nice chunk of travel funds by selling our house:)

I posted this in another thread but didn't get an answer. Maybe this is a better spot for it!

I'm doing a year in Europe, i dont have enough simply to travel, so i will be working here and there where i can.

I figured i had a year open to me where i could travel, so why not spend the whole year travelling, sure there will be times when i have to stop for a month or so to work, but the alternative would just be working here at home, so why not do it in another country and fully imerse yourself in the experience

working in Europe may have its pros and cons. On the one hand work can e hard if you do not speak the language also there maybe issues of work visas.
If I were going to do it, I would basically have fun on the continent and then maybe in Britain or Ireland find an employment agency and make some cash.

I merged these two threads together. There's no need to create identical posts in different forums, we will always get to your questions, it may just take more time than your patience would like. :) -_-

Im planning on staying and working in England for a few months. When ive saved enough im going to go over to Europe then back to England again etc... Im hoping to spend at least 24 months doing this. Im in SA so the exchange rate sucks for me! So i have to work. I think it will be fun and you really get to spend time in the countries you want to.
